Looking for Sheet Music for non-Irish Music

Hi all. I’ve been lurking around this board since I ordered my first whistle a little over a month ago. Several great links have come across this board for sources of tunes and sheet music for mostly Irish sounds.

Does anyone know of any good sources for free sheet music for other music forms? At the moment, I am looking for sheet music for several Andrew Loyd Webber songs. A Google search turns up LOTS of links for this music but all of the sites I have looked at so far want money. I’ll spend it if I have to, but I much prefer the free stuff. (Sorry, I haven’t figured out how to do the smileys yet so this old style one will have to do.)

The rather redundant question you aren’t really asking is in the FAQ. Look above and to your right… click on the FAQ and it will tell you how to do all sorts of smilies!!!

I’ll look into the sheet music for you, but if you’ve been searching Google, I doubt I will come up with anything you haven’t!

Take care,
John

I will definately take a close look at the FAQ. Thanks. I guess I figured out by accident how to do the smiley. I had actually typed in the smiley as colon, dash, right paren. The system must have substituted the smiley that I was actually after.

I would really appreciate any help you could offer as far as the sheet music is concerned.

I don’t think you’re going to find Andrew Loyd Webber sheet music posted online legally. But the best resource for free public domain sheet music online is actually from the archives of the Copyright Office. The Library of Congress has posted a vast wealth of old sheet music on the Internet.

Also check out their online folk music recordings. Definitely one of the finer things the government has done, in my opinion.

You’re right. I hadn’t thought of that. The music is going to be copyrighted. :frowning: I guess I’ll need to fork out a few dollars.

Thanks for the link to the Library of Congress. I spent several minutes poking around there and it looks great. I’m going to have to look at it in alot more detail.

You might check the public library. It’s possible they have the music you’re looking for, without need for forking out cash.
