locking threads

I like it too (obviously).

And thank you mvhplank. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good ideas.

I’ve actually considered nuking the political megathread. It would just be so destructive. So, so very…destructive :smiling_imp:

Might think about changing that avatar.
It seems to be starting to affect you.

Do it, Tom!

I mean…uh…Dale.

Dale & Pope Tom are one.

That statement is truly frightening, Dale :boggle:

Dale, you, like, never use emoticons! This obviously is an idea that warms the cockles of your heart.

Dale: nukes thread

C&F: “Gasp!”

Dale: “That blowed up real good.”

Dale has obviously never experienced Post Partum Depression. Oh wait, that was TOM that never experienced it. Or was it Dale?

If you fear the reaction, Dale, my other point of advice (I have a lot, haha) would be to take the actions slowly. Chop off the first 10 pages of the political-religious thread or the first 10 OT posts on the Whistle board, and I’m sure few would notice or care. Then chop off 100, then 200, etc.

Ooh. Creeping dismemberment. I like it.

In a way, that’s kind of like going into a cool pool on a hot day. It’s much more difficult to do it in little bits…in fact, it can be sheer torture. It’s much better to just dive right in and get it over with. So we should just nuke the heck out of it…blow it away in one fell swoop!! Leave nothing but rubble and a few bleary eyed people wandering around aimlessly wondering where it all went!!! Well…at least, I think that’s what Dale would say. This of course doesn’t espouse MY viewpoint… :astonished:

I really think that avatar is getting to me…

But how do you feel about psychiatry?

Are you talking about your hobbies, AGAIN???

We’ve had some remarkable threads, sometimes
things were said very well, some were hilarious,
some very moving. I’m glad they’re preserved.
Sometimes when I’m writing professionally
I go back and read some of our threads.

You know, extraordinary things have
happened here.

wb, Stony. I have missed you. Even if I disagree on this particular point.

Same here.

Yeah, the old days were the good days. But isn’t that the way it always is? The further away you get from something, the better it seems. There may come a day when C&F will only be the shadow of a cloud moving across the prairie and the sun will break out in a smile looking over the scattered memories.

You’re sounding like Walden now.

(And a couple hundred or so other Chiffers, it seems…)

Bwa-ha-haaaa! Good one, Cranberry! http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewtopic.php?t=23440

I don’t see why anyone really wants them deleted or locked, here in the Pub. While our comments may not be worth keeping in perpetuity, who cares if they are there? Nobody says ya half to go and read them over and over. Personally, once a topic has faded away, so does my memory of the specifics of it.

I guess if I want it locked, I lock it out of my mind.

All the Best, Tom
