Like getting an unexpected gift

Earlier today, I was rummaging around the clutter that surrounds the old Pentium PC I no longer use and came across a copper whistle I didn’t remember. That happens every so often, between my now quiescent WHoA and the craziness of the last year. Anyway, it soon came to me that this was a Parkhurst D that I scarcely remember buying and hadn’t even seen, much less played, in over a year.

It was truly amazing how much better that whistle has gotten in that year or so of neglect. Sweet, pure, and responsive to the point where I wonder how I could have ever DONE that.

It really was like opening the mail on a dreary, sad day and getting an unexpected gift from an old friend.

I get that special feeling everyday when I pick up my Parkhurst D
