Lemon Zest is People!

tip 'o the hat to Flydood…

lemon zest is soap…

I’m not eating anymore recipies with lemon zest in them.
I heard somewhere that someone was making biodeisel from lemon zest…

“I’m sailing away, zest an open course for the virgin sea…”

“Audi Launches RS6 with Extra Zest”

Must mean free fuel…

Yamaha makes a scooter called the Zest, this one obviously made from lemon zest, orange zest, and an uknown fruit zest…

btw, I give smartass lessons…

I must be wrong then. Lemon Zest is a lot of things but it’s apparently not people.

I like the yellow suspenders!!! Especially on her :astonished:

Yeah, I thought ya might.
I’m tempted to call and ask if I can order her wearing her suspenders. :stuck_out_tongue:

Last night, I made lemon-apricot chicken..
Take chicken breasts and pound flattish (think parmasean chicken)
Coat with a breading made of flour, garlic powder and lemon zest:

bake until done, turning once.

Make a glaze with apricot preserves, soy sauce, lemon juice, and ginger

cut chicken on the bias into 1/2 inch slices…glaze with sauce.

yum!

(weirdly enough, I used a microplane on a green plastic plate, which ended up looking almost exactly like this picture…but I this is someone else’s picture! small world)

Sounds good…but can you include this lemon zest in the recipie too?

dessert, my good man…dessert

If you’da called me, I’da been right over–diet or no diet. :sniffle:

probably wouldn’t have been bad for the diet…each entree included:
1 breaded chicken breast (about 150-160 calories)
1/10 cup of apricot preserves (about 80 calories..yikes!)
spices & soy sauce in tiny amounts (about 1 calorie for the 1/3tsp soy sauce per breast)

Entree calories: about 241.

side dish: honey and ginger glazed carrots
1/2c carrots: 26 calories
1tsp butter (35 calories)
2/3 tbsp honey (about 50 cals)
big pinch of powdered ginger (no calories)

Total for side dish: 111 cals

Total caloric content for meal 352
not too shabby compared to a big mac at 560 calories (not counting the fries!)

I tend to get bored at work and snack on a candy bar in the mid afternoon, so I try to knock out a couple hundred calories at dinner time to make up for it

I’ve always used chicken as a lower calorie alternative protein source…it tastes good.
Soylent Green tastes like chicken…
