John Skelton to give flute workshops in Savannah

John Skelton, renowned flute and whistle player, will hold workshops at The Folk Traditions Store, 12 Price Street (1/2 block south of Bay) on July 16 and 17. John is the Host of the Swannanoa Gathering’s Celtic Week, and has taught around the world. Workshops $30 ($25 for Folk Traditions Store Members), Brittany lecture $7 ($5 for Store Members, free for workshop particpants), private lessons by appointment, $35 per hour (call 912-341-8898 for information or reservations):

Sunday, 1:30 pm Beginning Flute,
Sunday, 3:00 pm Intermediate/Advanced Flute (for participants who already play orchestral flute or Irish whistle),
Sunday, 4:30 pm. Lecture/Demonstration on the Music of Brittany

I wonder if there will be any MP3s of the Breton-music bit available afterwards? I’d really like to get my hands on more information/history on the Breton tradition - this sounds brilliant.

I’m jealous of all of you who can make it!

I can vouch that John Skelton is an excellent instructor. I had him for two days in Gainesville, FL back in 2004. I will see if I can make this one!
