Typically, student chanters are a single piece of timber, no mounts of other material. The chanter Jarlath is playing has what looks to be mounts of blackwood or violet rosewood.
it is indeed the chanter i was making on the videos.
one video shows me rouhging out and drilling another rasping the key blocks.
the wood is pink ivory, mounts cocobolo and metalwork sterling silver.
he loved the chanter so much i told him to keep it.
unfortunately the chanter is left handed so i will soon be replacing it with a right handed one with keys at Jarleth’s request.
