Jeffries chanter

Hi all

Had the pleaseure of reeding up an Aodhan Jeffries concert pitch chanter recently and i have to say that i was highly impressed by it. The tone and intonation was superb and the tuning was magnificent.
The chanter had an excellent resonance to it and for me that it the mark of a good chanter. I had never came accross any of Aodhans work before and therefore could not make any comment on it, however these chanters are up there with the likes of Koehler and O’ Bhriain . ( Both of which i have so that is how i can say this).

Its great to see Irish makers producing quality such as this and i hope it continues.

I’ve been playing one of Adrian’s sets for about 8 years now. Picked it up when he was living in Australia. I have to agree that the chanter is quite nice to play.
Paddy, I’d be interested to know the reed/staple dimensions you used to see how they compare to how i’m making my reeds.
