Arrrr, I been waitin’ fer dis day. Soon I’ll be hoistin’ me Jolly Roger, heelin’
over to any Spanish vessel I sees, firin’ a few volleys wit’ me cannon, and
swingin’ over with me cutlass in me teeth. I’ll cut em ta ribbons, and I ain’t
splittin’ my booty with none a’ ye dogs, ye hear? Me heart be black and me
pegleg be splintery. I puts the “fear” in “fearfaoin”, I does!
Aye, Caroluna be a right worthy swashbucklin’ lady. Have you e’er seen her
buckle a swash? Fantastic! Though, once when we was out a-wenchin’, she
taught all our parrots to sing Manilow tunes. Arr, dere was much weepin’ and
gnashin’ a’ teeth dat night!
I can’t believe it’s over already!
I think this is fast becoming my favorite “holiday”. An excuse to be publicly
silly seems to go a long way for me. I drove around yesterday blasting sea
chanteys, and I bought a Jolly Roger flag to fly out on my house. Guess I’ll
take it down this morning.
