It's been a long time coming

Well, three years ago, year-round bouts of allergies destroyed my breath control and my ability to play my much-beloved whistles. I consoled myself by discovering that WHOA has a cousin disease known as CHOA (Concertinas are just as addictive, keep your children away from them).

The other day, I finally decided that I could manage to play again. It all comes back fast. Of course, I’m not exactly playing on a Generations (I still love my Thin Weasel and took loving care of it all that time).

I just wanted to say Hello to all..

If Mr O’brien is lurking out there, I still have the prototype whistle you gave me years ago for a review on Irtrad-L (and that was in the bad old days of Conrad). It still holds it’s own against anything out there.

You might want to consider a Dixon they take very little air and sound good too.

Hi Richard-
Great to hear that you’re still around and back to whistling. Welcome to the forum.

I just got out my record book from 1995 and I see that the D whistle you bought was serial #1. I had made a few before that, but that was the first one I numbered. Your Bb was #134. Do you still have both of them? I am up to about #540 now.

Drop me a PM and I’ll see about getting you one of my recent creations to check out.
