Hi all. I had been a member here years ago. Life got in the way and I stopped participating. My older login had long been forgotten, and what I thought was my user name was no longer in the system. So here I am, retired and getting back into things. Although my favorite whistle to listen to is a low D, and for years I wanted to buy a Howard low D, my hands can no longer handle them.
So I sold the two Low D’s that I had and have been concentrating on my high D whistles. Going to be lurking for a while, maybe asking a question or two until I feel at home again.
Welcome back !
FYI: Two Low-D’s that are easy on the hands:
-
plastic by Dixon (very light, have had one for years)
-
Carbony “small hands” (uses novel “chimnies” to allow “high-d” hole spacing)

Happy whistling,

Thank you. Right now though I am concentrating on my high D’s and starting to thin the collection. Not just whistles, but recorders and assorted other instruments. Unfortunately, music wise, I moved a few years ago and am in a Celtic/early music desert. I would have to drive about and hour and a half to two hours to find a group to play with. A far cry from living halfway between DC and Baltimore. I am trying to convince my uke playing neighbors that they need someone on the melody line.
