I was around the forum last year as I was starting to get into the whistle, but school took over for a while and I didn’t have much time to dedicate to things. Now I’m back on track again as I start down the road with my Sopranao D Tony Dixon and my E Water Weasel (one of his last). Homefully I’ll be able to get some stuff recorded soon in my home studio but I’ve been spending more time recording electronica type music for an album I hope to complete by the end of the year. Maybe I’ll eventually be able to merge the two styles.
Currently I’m using Kerrywhistles.com and Whistletutor.com (a friends website) to learn from. I’m thinking, though, that I should pick up a book or two to learn from as well. I do read music, though, and I have a couple of tune books as well as some things that I’ve picked up while browsing the internet.
This weekend I’m heading up to the Celtic Classic in Bethlehem, PA to catch as much music as I can. It’s good to be back!
