is the whistle shop still open

Hi all,

i’m just enquireing does anyone know if the whistle shop is still open, I sent e-mails at the end of November and a couple of weeks before Christmas, with no reply, it could be my server??, I just read a note on Phil Hardys site, which he states on good info that they had gone under, any info would be appreciated.

I know of a couple of people personally who’ve made whistle shop orders and not recieved them. Additionally, others have posted on the board about the same kind of thing. Phil has also stated that he hasn’t sent them whistles in over a year, and they still list them.

I haven’t heard any specific information about them having gone under, but it certainly appears that something has happened to them.

I checked out the thread, and it seems something is wrong, so I will leave it at that as it got quite heated before, on my afternoon trawl of ebay for whistles and flutes I did come across a chieftain low F tuneable for an excellent price buy it now, which seemed to be being sold by Thom of the whistle shop, I could be wrong though. $ 175 great price, but its an Overton I’m after.

This is why threads like that should be kept open rather than locked and buried. People need to know what’s up, lest they continue placing orders on the site.

Phil proclaimed that The Whistle Shop had gone under in the absence of any evidence that was true. I continue to hear from people who are doing business with Thom, and so I presume he remains in business.

That said, I have removed the listing for The Whistle Shop from the main website and I no longer recommend it, due to number of unhappy customers from whom I’ve heard, many of whom have posted on this board about their problems.

I locked the previous thread because, in this kind of situation, a long, long thread tends to obscure what the reader needs to know. There’s plenty on that locked thread for people to use to make an informed decision about whether to shop at that business. And, if I ever learn, definitively, that the business closes–or if I ever hear from Thom regarding exactly what the heck is up–I’ll re-open the threads and update them.
