“…livin’ da dream”
It’s good to see Jimmy Deenihan so involved in the piping center.
He is a real advocate and fan of piping.
I had the chance to meet, and play for, him a couple of years ago when he visited us here.
We spoke a length about the uilleann pipes and their history in Listowel. Listowel and Los Gatos, California are sister cities.
I hope to visit him in Ireland someday.
Cheers! Richard
They seem to have fixed the “John O’Flynn” reference ![]()
I got a message “This video is private” when following the previous link - the new link appears to be:

The accompanying print article is:

There was an article in the Irish Independent today as well: http://www.independent.ie/national-news/school-for-making-instruments-not-just-a-pipe-dream-3152668.html
I agree Richard, the Minister has been very supportive of piping and NPU’s activities, as have the Leader programmes in various counties from which the students are coming.
… yeah, living’ da dream… you gotta love Cathal!
Thanks for the fixed link, Bill! That looks like a totally cool place. And there’s no question it’s a genius enterprise. Love the quote in the article about “ordering your pint without stopping playing.”
Its a great idea but bad timing.

… although not the reference to “Gay McKeon”. Methinks they’s missed a bit …
Nice to see Kevin Rowsome paying reverent attention to the speaker at the beginning there. ![]()
