Interest query for new Memphis session

Greetings:
This message is to test the waters to see if there are any folks in the Memphis, TN area interested in participating in a new Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann - type session. A facility is available in Bartlett to do a monthly session or one every two weeks, if there are folks who are interested in playing.

Session format can be very flexible, including slow sessions for new musicians and learning new pieces.

If anyone is interested, please send me a private note with your email address via the Chiffboard here. If there are enough musicians interested, the first session can occur as early as local folks can come to a rough consensus about when to meet.

Kindest regards,

Rob Mitchell

Rob - Should be a note in your PM box.

I’m sure there’s more than three of us in the Memphis area. Sure would be nice to get something going in the Mid-South. Whistling by myself in the Cotton and Soybean fields gets awfully hot and lonely. Maybe we need to start making road trips. There’s some members not to far East, some in Arkansas, a couple in Western Kentucky. Unfortunately Missouri would be stretching the range, unless somebody is hiding in the bootheel.

Hello, Hello, anybody out there? Dale used to be in Memphis but he moved away to establish his empire.

This is a shameless bump but when some one is trying to get some of us togather its worth risking the wrath of the board.

Rob has at least six positive responses so Memphis may soon have a sessiun (sic). If you’re in the area please don’t be shy. Come give it a try.

So what’s the story?
Is there a session in Memphis yet?
Or is there anyone interested in a few tunes Thursday evening 4 June, 9 days from now?
I’m a flute and whistle player from Houston.
I’ll be in town for my high school reunion on Fri & Sat nite, 5&6 June. Coming in a day early
to lessen travel-itis.
Give me a shout back if anyone reads this.
