Identify the piper

I’ve been trying to identify the piper in the first photograph in this video. Someone said it is Tom Carthy which it could well be, but does anyone have a copy of this picture, or know where one can be found? I think the photo is brilliant. Even if you don’t know, just enjoy the piping!

The piper in question is Pat Ward, there is more info in O,Neills.

Top man! Gura mie eu.

Actually, i just realised that if i’d read all the comments i’d have found that somebody had already answered my question. Fool!

Still can’t find that picture, though.

The piper in question is Pat Ward

Rory,

He looks a bit more like Dinny Delany.

Will we see you in Henrietta St over the weekend?

Tommy

At first sight I thought it was Pat Ward but at second sight I changed my mind - the beard looks like his, but the face and the hands don’t, neither does his instrument (I wonder how many pipers of that time had more than one set?). Also, unless the photo has been reversed, the picture shows a left-handed piper.

I’ve had a second look and I still think its Pat ward, with the combination of the bowler hat and style of beard and comparing with the photo on page 318 of IMAM the hands look similar( they look like plowman’s hands)
Although it does look like Mr Delany as well and the chanter look similar to the one he’s holding in IMAM!

Tommy, I had no plans to go to Henrietta St, is there something going on ?
