Who's this piper

About 2 minutes and 17 seconds there’s a very brief shot of a piper playing for dancers.

Any ideas who it might be?

It could be James Ennis, Tom Rowsome… They would have played for dancers often enough.

Tommy

Thanks Jonathan,
That was quick too!!

Tommy

The more I look at it the more it looks like James Ennis Snr.
I’m open to correction of course.

Tommy

P.S.

I did change the title of the topic to see if more would respond.

Tom Rowsome would have been in his 20s at that time. The piper in the photo looks older. He does look like James Ennis.

If it is James Ennis, would that be the Coyne set he’s playing? The bass drone slide section tooks to be too short (comparing it with the photo on page iv of the Master’s Touch) However, it does resemble the photo of the set James Ennis is playing in the photo on page ix of that same book.

He certainly has that Ennis posture anyway. Maybe it’s the Mulcrone set he’s playing?

PD.

Yep, its Daddy Ennis.

Regards,

H.

And waiting for the high tide by the looks of his trousers!!!
