so there’s a “polymer” flute on ebay:

i’m wondering if anyone can identify a maker? i’ve tried–can’t figure it out myself. telling mark perhaps is how close together and towards the end the holes are in the foot; i thought it would make it easy for me to compare and figure out who might have made it, but none of the makers i’m aware of seem to make them that way.

maybe that means it was made in pakistan? but if so, it would be the first delrin (is it delrin? looks delrin to me) flute i’ve seen come out of that exotic locale of famous “flute” manufacture.

but if it’s from a genuine maker might be a deal for someone… going for 60L right now…

cheers,
eric

Early M&E, it is made of PVC not delrin. Beware of loose sockets, as the PVC flutes would melt and distort in hot cars! I have worked on a couple of these in the past…

Agree, it’s an early M&E (before his Rudall model), probably from about 1999 or so, and weighs a ton. Not bad as a beginner flute, but not one I’d keep, either (I didn’t - I replaced it with a Seery back in the day).

BTW, those rings are totally flat with the profile of the flute, not the typical ‘D’ rings one finds on most flutes.

cool. thanks everybody.
