Oh man. Yesterday I started running a high fever so I called my doctor, thinking she’d tell me to take Tylenol and call her in the morning, but she told me to get to the ER. We were expecting company, so we took a couple of hours to get to the ER. I waited for a couple of hours before they found me a bed (which happened to be right next to a woman with a serious flu). Anyway, they did tons of tests on me and it turns out I have a serious bladder and kidney infection (I had no symptoms other than the high fever, which is scary). So they admitted me and want to keep me for at least a few days. I feel miserable here. My mom came down to watch the baby and Dan stayed with me last night. He was supposed to go back to work today, but he will tomorrow. I am typing this from Dan’s Blackberry-email-phone-browser device (neat gadget!). Every night they will give me antibiotics (that are safe for breast milk, which I pump) through my IV. I still have a high fever. Ugh.
Oh, you poor dear. All the best for necessary rest … and rapid recovery! Hang in there!
Get well soon, Jessie! ![]()
Get better quickly Jessie. At least you’ve gone to the right place.
What a drag!!
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Debbie
Get well quickly Jesse. That little girl needs you. Sorry to hear you had this problem. Take good care of yourself and listen to the doctor.
Ron
Glad you checked in! Get better fast! You know you have the good wishes of so many!
Get well soon Jessie,
Blah, sickness is a coward, it always seems to sneak in when you’ve always got some much other stuff to do.
Sorry you’re under the weather Jessie! Feel better soon. . .
Tyg
Aw that stinks! I know you’d rather be playing with the baby than holed up in some stupid hospital bed.
I hope you feel better very soon!
Chicken soup, me lass, chicken soup!
Get better soon, Jess
Get well soon.
My hero Jessie’s sick!
Rest up, get well, don’t worry about a thing. I hope those antibiotics kick in right away and you feel better fast.
Best wishes,
Jerry
No matter what the dr. give ya, a beer or two a night will take care of a kidney or bladder infection faster than anything. I don’t know why, but it does. My GF used to have problems all the time and medicine was slow to work, if it did. I talked her into the beer cure. Two a night for two or three nights and its gone.
I know it sounds crazy…
So sorry, Jessie! I’m so glad you’re able to pump…I wasn’t, and the last thing you need on top of this is a bout of mastitis! Get well soon!
Redwolf
Geez, Jessie, that sucks! I hope you get well soon.
Hang in there, Jessie! I hope you get to feeling better very very soon!

Jessie I don’t know about V.B’s “Beer cure” but I’ve heard that for urinary tract infections cranberry juice is the ticket. Anyway, I’m positive that you will pull through quickly, just a temporary set back. ![]()
Oh, what a bum deal. Just let the hospital work. Rest. This will soon pass.
Dale
Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well, Jessie, but the hospital is the best place to be right now. We’re all sending well wishes to you!
Irony. The Onion has a article about hospital stays. They say laughter is the best medicine.
