Oh man. Yesterday I started running a high fever so I called my doctor, thinking she’d tell me to take Tylenol and call her in the morning, but she told me to get to the ER. We were expecting company, so we took a couple of hours to get to the ER. I waited for a couple of hours before they found me a bed (which happened to be right next to a woman with a serious flu). Anyway, they did tons of tests on me and it turns out I have a serious bladder and kidney infection (I had no symptoms other than the high fever, which is scary). So they admitted me and want to keep me for at least a few days. I feel miserable here. My mom came down to watch the baby and Dan stayed with me last night. He was supposed to go back to work today, but he will tomorrow. I am typing this from Dan’s Blackberry-email-phone-browser device (neat gadget!). Every night they will give me antibiotics (that are safe for breast milk, which I pump) through my IV. I still have a high fever. Ugh.
Get better soon, Jessie!
Cheers,
Jens
Yeeeg!! That sounds really unpleasant! I hope you get better real quick so you can get back to that cute little girl at home.
Y’know, I work with a lot of medical professionals, and one thing I’ve learned in all this time is that being sick is not good for your health. ![]()
I wish you well…

Get well soon Jessie! You know what they say, getting sick is Nature’s way of forcing you to slow down. So relax and get the rest you need. ![]()

Get better soon Jessie. I trust that yummy hospital food will get you out of there apace. OK, what is Dan sneaking in for you?
Best,
PhilO
I’m praying for you, Jessie.
Jessie, I am so sorry that you have to be in hospital just after having your little one… I hope you are getting to see and hold that lovely bundle frequently… insist on it if you can. You need each other most right now… well… getting over the infection is first, of course, but don’t settle for enforced seperation if you don’t have to. Don’t let them push you around on it either!
I’m sending healing ‘vibes’, kiddo… get well quick!
Look at it positively: at least you have a good stereo ![]()
