I released my first CD in the Catskills last week!

I’ll ask him later this week.

I actually have the luxury of practicing at work too, but I usually spend my free hour just reading. Good advice, the practicing at work.

Good sessions are hard to come by out here in the desert though!

Thanks Jim,

I feel so bad for people that are not close to the music but love it. There is something electric about sitting down with your friends and sharing a tune over a pint. AHHHHHHH! :astonished:

I am glad you like the Evesdropper set Bayswater. I had forgotten about that recording.

matahari_1946 I am trying to picture you in Furlongs. It’s hard for me because people always seem to remember me for some reason?
 Must be cause im so tall!

I didn’t really meet you, just saw you. It was so dang crowded in there! I was sitting (with my flute in my lap most of the time) on the bench against the back wall and just saw you across the sea of bodies and thought you looked like you were having a good time and that you had a nice-looking flute.

When we were down in Massie’s Mill about a year ago and Aaron was working on a C foot, we asked if it would be a regular offering soon. When they heard that we’d only been on the keyed-flute list for 2 years, they said we could certainly get an 8-key.

So if you order a keyed flute now, it can be an 8-key. If you’ve been on the list for like 6.9 years, then it probably wouldn’t require violence, but something like baked goods wouldn’t hurt.

Josh, I love your style of playing. Lovely tunes.

Thank you Chas.

Baked goods are always a good call. Whiskey works too!

So there’s hope yet!

Imagine how good this CD would have been if Josh had only had a decent C flute to work with. (If you buy it, you’ll see what I mean…)

Treeshark,

Im not sure if it has another name. Wouldn’t be surprised if it did. So many tunes have AKA’s. Such a pretty tune though. I feel in love with both of those hornpipes as soon as I heard them played. :astonished:

Ha ha ha John,

I will deal with you at the session.

John lent me his C flute to record those hornpipes. (I mean I played them in F with my D flute utilizing the Keys :astonished: )

That’s impressive.

Yes, the hornpipes are very beautiful–
very much due to your performance.
I’m going to learn them.

Also the guitar accompaniment is very good.

nicely done, Josh

not bad for a fife guy.

dm

I would say so since I am a snare drummer

How is it going David?

Jim, you are to kind.

The Munster Grass is an Ed Reavy tune, and that’s the name on it in the book of Reavy’s tunes put together by his son. Other names for it might include…Reavy’s.

Josh does indeed play my flute on that track, proving once and for all that my own lack of flute chops can’t be blamed on my equipment. The danger of loaning out one’s flute, alas.

John you don’t give yourself enough credit. I have problems playing half the Dminor and Gminor tunes you play.

Frankly, they kick my A$$ :astonished:

 I had to laugh out loud when I read that! Just goes to show what a flute player looks at and admires first-thought Tiff was going to say saw you across “a crowded room”… and thought you had a “nice looking face!” Thanks for the laugh, Tiff!

And thanks for those clips, Josh-really nice playing-flute and guitar!

It’s true, my first thought was about the flute. Sorry, Josh. But it’s different from what I’m used to seeing around these parts so it stood out. FWIW, Josh does have a nice-looking face. And I enjoyed those clips as well.

Hey Josh–congrats!

Wish I couldve been there for the official release. Can’t wait to hear the whole thing all together. I will only buy a copy if it comes with a free sweatshirt!
