I have found the perfect place...

… for the 2005 C&F annual convention. After searching hither and thither, hill and dale, here, there and everywhere, I have finally found a place that accepts whistlers. Registration fees are due October 5th. If your dues are up to date with Dale, registration is half price.

(if you have found similar venues around the world, this would be a good place to post them  )

There’s a famous ski resort just north of Vancouver BC called Whistler. It will share the 2010 winter Olympics with Vancouver.

Duh! I should have thought of that one. I love skiing Whistler (except for the lower half, which is essentially a sheet of ice most of the year).

You searched Dale? :astonished:

my tea kettle’s name is whistler

Somewhere between here and Colorado is a place called Castle Dale… I have a photo but it’s packed, so I’ll have to get it next month if this thread is still alive.

(edited to note that “here” is Salt Lake City, Utah, as by this time next week my location will be quite different.)

Grand Junction has about a dozen C&F convenience stores. I believe Beth or Brian has some pictures.

Actually, it’s in central Utah…towards the east…a little old coal mining town, now nearly dead.

Susan

Yes, we have a photo of a kilted Chiffer buying some Special Food.

And we mustn’t forget the large freeway exit sign reading “MACK” just inside the Colorado border…

…which would put it exactly where Beth said.

Anyway, there seems to be a plethera of Wisely inspired merchants in and around the Grand Junction area. Close to the secret underground election headquarters? You decide!

Gas is cheaper if you’re a crystal people…person…thing…er, whatever!

Mack Hoover graciously directed us right to his house:

Ah special food! (in this case it was special allergy medicine!)

Yes. I was simply clarifying.

I see the problem here as one of presentation only.

If Susan had written:

That’s right Beth, to be precise it’s…

then she would be agreeing & extending the information, but by writing

Actually, it’s…

it appears (to a non resident of the USA such as I am) that she is correcting.

Susan wrote as if she were in a spoken conversation, but taken as a separate post, it can appear to be a contradiction.

So we’re all agreed, the place is right where you all say it is.

I couldn’t even find my own house on an aerial photograph half an hour ago, so don’t ask me for direction anywhere, unless you want the Thomson’s tour.

Appears that way to a resident, too.

I think the secret C&F headquarters is actually in the British Virgin Islands, on Tortola: http://www.islandsonline.com/c&frestaurant/

:sunglasses:

Yum, sounds good (but where is that?)

(edit, just looked it up, it’s the British Virgin Islands!)

There was a Crystal Palace restaurant near my university in NY. I took pics for Dale one winter, and had a waitress come outside to find out what I was up to

I called and tried to order delivery, but apparently they’re a sit down restaurant only.

Nice pictures, Brian! (and cute skirt)

For those interested.
