I’ve been dreading this, but slow business activity has forced a sale of some of my whistles. Rest assured, the clothes off my back will be sold before my beloved Rose blackwood, but I shall have to part with the following:
GRINTER LOW D in cocobolo with silver mounts and tuning slide plus soft bag. Four months old, virtually unplayed - US$420 (the price I paid) incl. postage (and no 6-8 month wait time).
BURKE ALPRO DAS (SESSION) HIGH D. Brand new unused, plus pouch. Not sure what to offer re price as there’s little wait time on these, so perhaps a bit off the asking price?
I thought I’d give 'em a go here first for C&Fers before going to Ebay. There is absolutely nothing wrong with either - they are beautiful whistles to look at and to play. In fact, the Grinter is the best sounding low D I’ve ever heard and the only reason I’m selling it and not my Overton is because I’ll recover more funds (fingers crossed, I may be able to keep the Overton).
If someone can explain how to post photos, I’ll do that - I just tried and failed miserably!
Meanwhile, if anyone wants to mail me direct…

forgive my ignorance, is the Burke a High or low D? I’m trying to find more about them on the web, but failing miserably! And how much is a bit off, in REAL money (i.e. sterling)
I’m confused: If that Grinter Low D is so fantastic, how come you hardly played it over the last 4 months? I’m not being sarcastic, just curious…

Understandable question. I took delivery as my business slowed, so what with having had less time to play while concentrating on business generation I also took the view that I might have to sell, in which case I elected not to get too attached (which would make the sale far harder!), and to have a virtually brand new whistle to offer. I’d always hoped I’d be able to keep it, but needs must…
