Hi everyone !

First I would like to say I’m french and my english is really bad so be indulgent (lenient?).
I want to buy an Uilleann Practice set and this forum (+ your threads) really help me to define what kind of tone I prefer, so thanks All!
In the part of France where I live, there no sessions, no pipers, that’s why it was difficult for me to make a choice.

I would like to know if somebody has ever played “Davy stephenson” uilleann pipes ( http://www.bagpipeworks.com/ )? Those are really beautifull and the waiting time is short (3 months for a practice set)

thanks for your reply (answer ?)

Loïc

ps: I don’t want a loud tone uilleann pipe (such as a Highland bigpipe) so if you know a maker who makes pipes with sweet/mellow tone, contact me

ps: I hope you understood this post…I promise you, I will learn english language

I have a Davy Stephenson practice set. I am very happy with it - happy enough that I have gone ahead and ordered a drone set to go with it.

Davy is very helpful and willing to make deal with you too.

The tone is mellow and not strident.

Jeff

Thank you very much

Bon courage!

Xeluis,
Welcome to the C&F board !!

Un café au lait, sil vous plait.

I’m afraid that’s about the extent of my french, though I did get to see Forest Gump re-dubbed in french during my stay in Le Havre.

Guuuuuuuuuuuuu Forrrrrrrrrrrest, Guuuuuuuuuu!
