I heard a friend play this air the other day and I liked it a lot. I have the dots for it but I find it easier to learn a tune when I can use my ears too. I have looked on all the trad tune sites I know of but I haven’t found an MP3 or a MIDI for it. Does anyone know a source for it? Don’t anybody sprain your mouse wrist over this. But if you’ve got a line on it I’ll be happy to get it.

Jackie Daly plays it a lot, I think I have him playing it on a benefit CD we did a few years ago, I can send you the MP3 if you like.
Oww…my wrist…

Don’t say I didn’t warn you! Those wittle duck wings are fwagile.
Cherish the Ladies have a beautiful version of this tune in “Threads of Time”. Sorry for the link, Seems a bit long but it’s anyway one click.
Amar, lovely version that from Brenda Hunter. How do you make the direct link to the sound clip? I know…a bit on the off topic side… ![]()

Thanks
Patrick Street does a very nice sweet version of that song.
Oh, that’s lovely!
Perhaps Burnsbyrne might share those dots with the class??
(By the way- dots are like tinwhistle tablature, right? I can read music fine too—) ![]()
You can find ABC and dots at http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/2888
Edited to add:
That version is in E minor and runs too low. If you transpose it into B minor and play it on a low G whistle, it works fine. (B minor on a high D whistle is a bit piercing, as it goes up to the second octave C#.) Here’s the ABC for it in B minor:

T: Her Mantle So Green
M: 3/4
L: 1/8
R: waltz

I would be happy to share my dots but I am technologically challenged so I don’t know how to get the paper copy I have onto the Chiff board. BTW, the dots I have are standard music notation, not tablature. The version I have is in 4/4 time, with two sharps, possibly B minor?
