help name a band

What about

Free Range Monkeys

Not a play on words but funny in a local kind of way
When I spent a few months at Caesar Kleberg at TAMUK, I learned about ferral monkeys that just loved to eat prickly pear cactus right off the ground.

My suggestion:
Instead of Gravel walk.

McMarfa’s Canyon Walk.
Or just McMarfa’s.

How about Celtic Cowboys or Celtic Cowpokes or Keltic Kowboys.
Mike

This is a fun thread for me even if it doesn’t produce a band name that my music partners are happy with. Can you guess the result of our band’s last meeting?

Here are some other names that came to me from various sources but have been rejected:

The Sunburnt Leprechauns, or Fried Leprechauns
The Jiggerbugs

here are some I just thought of:
The Mellow Rogues of Texas
Gravel Gulch
The Blisters
Flash Flood

I guess I’m lucky my music partners aren’t as fussy about my whistle playing as they are my band name ideas…

Please don’t stop the ideas flowing!

Lisa

How about:

Coyote Lament
Desert Moon Jig
Reel Music

I looked through the compilation of tunes played in Seattle last night for some good tune names.

For a name somewhat related to geographics, how about:

Moving Cloud
Speed the Plough

If your band has an edgy feel, you might use:

Rip the Calico
Smash the Windows

If you are all still friends after this process is over, you could be:

Reconciliation

Have fun!

Heather

Hi Lisa. This is my first post and I could not resist to add my suggestions for band names to the ever growing list. How 'bout one of these?

DESERT CEILIDH (pronounced 'kaylee" gaelic for party, happy time etc.)

DESERT SANDS or IRISH SANDS

SAND 'N STONE

DESERT STORM (I know real original!)

Anyway, just a few thoughts for ya. Good luck!!

This is a whistle. The kid said “weird” and rode away. - KiT

Wow, you saved that quote? I thought you were joking…

how about “the crystal people”?

Hmmm

Irish Outlaws, or
Outlaw Aire…

In my industry (contact lens manufacturing), the useless detritus of the manufacturing process, the fine powdery stringy polymer residue that flies off the lathes when the diamond tooling shapes the lenses, is called “Swarf”. I always thought it would be a cool band name.
