Many happy ( and belated) returns Mr. Maloney! 
I saw the Cheiftans play a few years (maybe 10) back, supposedly on Paddy’s birthday. They had Ashley MacIssac (crazed fiddler) playing with them on that tour, who came flying out onto the stage and stomped around as though his shoes were on fire while he played.
When they announced that it was Paddy’s birthday and brought out a birthday cake, he commented that they needed to keep it away from Ashley…so that he would not stomp the candles out - funny man.
Nice interview - nice to have Paddy on the Board for the National Concert Hall, too. NPU had a great series of concerts there for a number of years. I heard Liam O’Flynn et al perform the Brendan Voyage there in 1984.

Yes, the son is working in high tech; the daughter is an actress; there’s a second son who was studying archaeology at one time.

I still think I’d like to hear some more of Paddy’s solo piping.
I would not have added to it unless it was all public information that was supplied by Paddy, including in this latest interview. Paddy’s daughter has been mentioned in the NY Irish newspapers doing the occasional role.

He’s right. This has gone to far. No one needs to talk about his hair - nor son working for/at NASA. This is an outrage, truely.
