These side blown flutes normally cost a lot more. Made by Hall. Made of glass…breakable.
If there’s enough interest I can buy a bunch and mail them out. Payment is on the honor system for C&F members with 100 posts or more. (Personal check or whatever works). Others will have to trust me to ship after I get the money. Shipping and insurance $5.00 extra in the US. I can get low D flutes ($30), C picallos ($20) and G flutes ($25). They are new, and still in the padded boxes. Boxes are undamaged. The flutes are engraved with various images from ships to flowers. Let me know if you want more feminine or masculine images and I’ll try to match them…but I can’t guarantee that. It also makes a decent decoration/conversation piece/weapon.
I have tinkered with the flute a little in the past. I found it easy to get notes from these. The low D is rich and deep. the Piccallo is not at all like the one from Dixon. It does not scream at you. Fingering for all sizes is same as whistle…6 holes. Tone is similar to a wooden flute. I could reach all holes on the low D with the pads of my fingers, but to play comfortably I had to use piper fingering. My hands are medium size for a guy.
All holes are raised, including the mouth hole (embouchure).
If you plan to use this in a session you might want to find a way to paint it black!!
I’ll have to close this offer fairly soon, say, Thursday at noon.
