Guess what I found?

Today I was in a thrift store and I found a really old original Walton’s. It plays like a dream. Makes me happy.

My Walton D is kinda squeeky - overblown easily …
a good high D and I’ll be high myself!

Nice to hear you are back to playing music Cran.

I’m sort of starting all over because for a long time I didn’t bother. One of the best things about the whistle is that even though it’s really old, it hasn’t been played much because there’s little to no patina at all. And the thrift store (a Goodwill, I love Goodwill) charged me $1 for it.

I’m also taking voice lessons in a few months most likely. God help me!

Not a bad price.

How “really old” could it be if it were named “Walton’s?” As far as I can recall, that brand was still known as “Soodlums” as recently as 1983 (since I have one I bought back then).

1983 is older than me!

i wanna find a really great whistle in a goodwill. i also wanna say “bite me” for saying 1983 is older than you.

I love a good deal. Congrats!

A good Waltons is a nice find. I got a dozen of them a while back for a charity thing, and there were a couple of real winners in the box. There were also a couple of serious losers. My conscience made me pay a $20 donation for one of the winners, so you’re ahead by $18.75 or so.
