Interesting concept, but it required a Gmail account. As I’ve already got four or five Yahoo accounts I’ll decline for now but I’d be interested in knowing

  1. how well it works for people on modems and
  2. how well it works for calling other countries.

Anyone got a Gmail invite to spare? Seems like an interesting concept, but like Ava, I’m currently Gmail-less . . .

Actually, I read that as of today, gmail accounts no longer require invitations.

I must say, I’m a big, big fan of gmail. The more I use it, the more I find ways to use it to help myself. Especially accessing the internet, as I do, from multiple locations (Home, C&F Headquarters, my office, DaleForce One, abandoned missile solos, etc.) I email myself little notes with phone numbers, addresses. I email myself files. The filter functions work really well. But the really beauty of Gmail is the STUNNING search functions which are weirdly fast.

I had a gmail account. I never used it…i found that after having an up to 5 accountsthrough my ISP, 25 accounts through my web hosting, excite.com email, hotmail, and work related email, I just couldn’t find a use for one more email account.

I didn’t know gmail was so useful a tool; I thought it was just another web-based e-mail account a la Hotmail or Yahoo. I’ll have to check it out.
