It seems Lunasa will be passing through Phoenix at the end of August, and the Irish Cultural Center convinced them to do a show here.
Only 150 tickets total to be sold… Not only do I get to see them, but I get to see them in a very small venue.
Cool.
Cool! I got to see Lasagna, er, Lunasa at the Hammersmith Irish Centre a couple of weeks back - they rocked! The only annoyance was a pair of girls with shrill voices who, having paid £10 each to get in, wouldn’t stop rabbiting the whole evening, and ruined most of the quieter pieces.
If these two turn up at your evening, tell them to put a sock in it from me.
Other than that, hope you have a great evening, and if you can get the CDs cheap on the door, do so, they’re all great!

I generally don’t have that trouble. My wife just gives people “that look”, and very politely tells them if they don’t step in line, she’ll pull out their liver through their ear. Everyone who has had the pleasure initially think she’s bluffing, until they really look her in the eye. They become very meek after that, as they realize she’s dead serious.
As part of her job (nurse on an ambulance), she occasionally transfers prisoners to hospital. Even they take one look at her and decide not to have a go at her, including the one who was convicted of assaulting the last nurse he was treated by.
Gotta love them red-headed Irish lasses.
I’m envious. Have a great time. 25 years ago I never would have thought that Lunasa would be what I would be cranking up on the stereo!

I know what you mean. As a kid I was a hard-core rocker with an appreciation of classical music. As I’ve gotten older, my tastes have expanded quite a bit. I still like hard rock and classical, but now I also like just about everything else except country western.
