Hey folks fyi…
I am selling my Fullset Gallagher concert pitch D nickel silver chanter(with windcap, reed and blocks and C natural key): Chanters, drones and regulators are turned from ebony. They are accented with imported synthetic ivory and brass ferrules. Bellows are made from cherry with an extra-heavy-duty leather gusset, and combined with the elk-tanned leather bag. The drones and regulators blend nicely with it to make a very pleasing whole sound. The set is going quite well. I am asking $7,500 .plus shipping from New Jersey These pipes go for $7,725 new. I don’t have photos right now but if you go to Seths’ sight you’ll see the Identical set. I will be posting photoes in about a weeks time but thought I’d get the word out in case someone is on the hunt for a fullset.
I love my Gallagher set. You will probably see a lot of trade in his product, since he has a big shop (for this instrument,) and he turns out a lot of sets.
Very happy with my D set and have ordered a C set in silver.
Seth has a few people helping him and a very business like approach - he must be turning out more sets that most of the other top tier US makers. I’d expect to see a few changing hands.
For every seller there is a buyer… so the real question is "Why does everybody seem to be buying Gallagher sets? Its a mighty great set of Pipes…McGuire hit the nail on the head…the Williams set was most opportune for me and hard to pass upcoming from David Power who set them up beautifully…I am fortunate as I can afford same. Whoever gets my Gallagher set will be more than happy I am sure. No hurry to sell all this is all prelim.
