FS: 1/2 Seth Gallagher B Set

Hi,

I’m putting up for sale my Gallagher 1/2 B set. It is made of ebody and brass with imitation ivory mounts and has 2 keys c and f. This set is air tight and easy to play. It is roughtly one and a half yrs. old and is in terrific condition. I bought it from fellow board member Lorenzo last year and have played it sparingly-just enough to keep the reeds in shape. It has Seth’s original cane reeds which are working great. I also bought a composite set of B drone reeds and a cane chanter reed from Bruce Childress a few months ago. The reason I’m selling this set is because I recently received a C chanter that is easier for me to play considering my short fingers. So after much thought, I’ve decided C will be my flat set of choice.

The cost for a new set of Gallagher 1/2 B set with 2 keys is around $3450 with over a year wait. The cost for this set is $3400 plus shipping without any wait. I will also include a professionally made bag cover (black with gold trim), the Childress reeds (which happened to be another $150 or so), and a pipe case which is in decent condition. Pictures of this set can be seen on page one of the “pictures of my pipes” thread which Lorenzo took. I also can send pictures via email if anyone would like. Please pm me if interested.

Thanks,

Steve Hill

Here’s a photo of the set, Steve. I have more too if you’d like. I can vouch for the quality of this set…it plays great and in tune.

Don’t prospective buyers want to see the set as it is today?

I think this is true of most sets by Mr. Gallagher.

You mean when you owned it, Lorenzo?

Larry,

Thanks for supplying the photo’s. I’m not sure how to post photo’s on this website that’s why I stated in my post that I would email photo’s to anyone who wanted them. It was a little less tha a year ago that I bought these from Larry, and I can assure you they look the same as they do in the photo’s he supplied (plus bagcover).

Thanks again,

Steve

Yes, I sold them to Steve because I had just acquired my Froment B full set. Knowing Steve, I’m sure the set is the same today as the day he bought them. The reed played right on up into the 3rd octave, and easy. Several people here have heard the set on a CD I sent out a year or so ago.

Hopefully, prospective buyers will be helped by all of this info.
