Full moon over Red Butte

nothing like facing the wrong way at sunset!

nice shot Tom!

Dawn, actually. And thanks! I am blessed every morning when I look out my back door.

Heh heh heh heh heh.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah I’m glad this isn’t the APOD thread

Wonderful picture…
our snow’s all gone now :frowning:

That’s right bonny.

Would you prefer Red Moon over Full Butte? Perhaps not.

Very nice! Is that the Cascades? I’ve spent a bit of time in the Columbia Gorge/Mount Hood area, but never got that far north. Looks like my kind of place!

Wonderful picture. It looks so peaceful and serene. Reminds me of Brokeback Mountain.

yeah, Cascades. That’s an odd little ridge that runs north to south and is a bit west of the rest of 'em.

White Horse on the north end and Three Fingers on the south

from the south and a bit east

Liberty, Big Bear, Three Fingers, Whitehorse

10 F last night, and this area has snow to spare!

It’s kind of like that, except this is a real place.

Brokeback Mountain is mostly real places, too. It was filmed in Alberta, Canada. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Rockies

Cran I’d think you need to go to Alberta before you decide just how real it is.

Or get SBFluter to walk the Continental Divide Trail with you.

Either one’s pretty funny, in a lowbrow sort of way.

I remember one time driving through Butte, Montana. The “e” on the city welcome sign had been obliterated by gunfire.

People like that make all us good hunters look bad and all that, sure, but to a couple of sleep deprived college age brothers on hour 15 of a 20 hour road trip, the overall effect was outrageously funny.
