FS - two Rudalls

Hi

over the years I’ve been lucky to have some great flutes pass through my hands, including three Rudalls, but I’m not a collector and I’m very settled on the one that I play (the very early #500 with a Wilkes head). I also need to replenish the money I borrowed for them from my ‘thatch roof fund’ before the rain comes in!

So, I have either one or two Rudalls to sell. One is an early R&R #17xx, the other a late RC&C #67xx, originating from Wylde’s shop. Both great flutes in different ways. Neither is without past repair but both are in full playing condition and professionally fettled by very reputable fixers.

I’ll be happy if I can recover what I spent on them, which is altogether about €5000 - so let’s say half that for either would be a very reasonable bottom line. I might consider suitable trade for a great keyed Eb or a C flute, or maybe for a keyed Wilkes in D.

Before I decide whether to put one or other on ebay I thought I’d see if there was any interest here first. I’d prefer not to get into a long discussion thread, unless they go to auction. If you’re genuinely interested now and you have the cash then ask away and all will be revealed. PM me with your email address…you know you want to

Any chance of posting a picture so we can have a look at them?

2500 euros for a Rudall ready to go is a very reasonable price. Hammy’s Rudall no. 721 went for around that recently. I think you’d have to pay a bit more though for a keyed Wilkes in D. All the best

That would be about the price of a keyed Wilkes, if you can get one, a bit more than £700 unkeyed plus £200 per key (roughly), it’s all supply and demand in the end I guess.

No-one really interested in the Rudalls so they’ll sit on the shelf for a bit :poke:

Hi Mark, any chance of a couple of pics? Thanks

check your PMs…

Well Mark,
