I am selling my Thomas Aebi flute in Eflat, 9 keys (8 keys with the double Bb) in cocus with silver keys, rings and tenons. This is a Rudall model, Tom made it 2 years ago, the headjoint is new (made last year) keys are working very well and are very comfortable, the pads are also ok and don’t need to be replaced. The flute is playing great, with a very good tuning, rich tone and power. It’s a truly amazing flute, but I don’t play in Eflat anymore at the moment, so I would like to let it go to a good home. I will probably order a new one when I will really need to play in E flat, I am so happy with my D flute…
The original price was 2500 €, I have the original invoice, so I am asking the same, even though I know that Tom is selling his flutes at a higher price now. Case is included.
I am selling it because I don’t use the E flat flute in my forthcoming projects, and I am desperately looking for money to make an album, that’s the reason.
I have just recorded a small sound sample with the Aebi flute to have an idea, sorry for the sound and playing, I did it very quick
I have to admit, this makes me very sad. Sylvain, you are one of my favorite flute players on the planet. I’ve listened to Clare’s reel (your composition) 100 times (and performed it a few as well). I’ve looked for your solo CD on the Internet – and looked – and there you are, playing in these bands and getting little bits of solo time, while your solo CD is still sometime off in the future.
What is so unfortunate is that this music cannot offer a good livelihood to someone with your talents. To think that you have to sell a flute in order to fund the production of a CD is just sad.
I would just like everyone to know, that I am NOT the person in China who is posting the “fraudulent flute of Sylvain’s.” I’m sure some of you thought–“it’s that Matt guy!”
Sincerely,
M.I.C.
BTW, pretty soon I’ll be in South America, will this create as much doubt?
