I’m selling my Morvan flute (to buy another one from him but a different model). it’s blackwood with 6 keys & silver.
It’s a great great flute, I have it for 10 months, I would definitely keep it if I could afford to have 2 flutes in D. I have played Rudall model flutes since the beginning but now I want to try the Boosey Pratten model.
I’m also selling the box with it.
Here is a picture :
you can see other pictures of the same type of flute at his website : http://www.skopavel.com
and a few sound samples I recorded with this flute, first is an extract from a radio show, second one has been quickly made… http://www.skopavel.com/PellenBarou.mp3 http://www.skopavel.com/MorvanRudall.mp3
It’s a very good flute for both recording and live. It’s very responsive, resonant and has got good rich harmonics and tuning is excellent.
the flute has just been sold. wow that was quick
thank you Eliot.
About the tunes played, I don’t remember well, but I got the first one from Frankie Gavin, I think it is called Paddy Canny’s toast and the second one I’m quite sure it is a composition of Karen Tweed.
I am really bad remembering the name of the tunes, that’s bad…
I’m waiting patiently for a new Morvan 8 key Ruddall, Stephane said it might be done this month. Hey Sylvain, if you see him, will you ask? Thanks, John.
Sylvain, did the case come with the Morvan flute? I could not find it on their site. Looks like a very nice and compact case for a keyed Rudall.
I’m looking for one for my Aebi flute.
Well, he said 8 months, and December will be about that. He said he should have it done this month. Only time will tell! It’s a bit difficult communicating with someone who doesn’t speak english and I don’t speak french! J.
I’m living 15 km far from him, and have a flute that need some care; I intend to visit him next friday, if possible. I’ll try to get some news of your flute then and inform you.
I’m just leaving Stephane, who showed me your flute. Nice work indeed! He’s now waiting for your C/C# keys to complete and send it.
Those keys are his first of a new model, that’s why it takes a little longer than expected.
I couldn’t try any Ruddall model, but I tried a Pratten. Very nice sound, as Stephane is getting a Pratten sound with low air flow, to improve the top hand sound quality.
I saw also Sylvain’s flute, which is now ready to go.
I took my camera with me to take some pix (I even forgot it when leaving), but I couldn’t take any good one in the workshop, because your flute was totally disassembled, and there was no good result.
