Rosewood Rudall style Irish Flute made by Aquila.
A gal who went by the name of Aquila, made this flute while she was an apprentice to Casey Burns. She made this flute for Board member MkChin, some 15+ years ago. It is a Rudallesque model made of Honduran Rosewood, very nice wood with small grains and glassy finish. In reality the wood appears much darker, confirming that Rosewood is related to Blackwood. The bore is very shiny and bright. The tone-holes are laid out in Casey’s ergonomic fashion. Making finger work fast and easy on this flute. This flute has a very sweet voice and an easy 2nd octave, with very good intonation. The flute is not inherently loud, but can be pushed a bit. This is a fine noodling flute or would be an excellent flute for a beginner.

The only flaws on the flute are small dings on the top of the head and bottom of the foot (see picture below). I repaired a very small crack in the head under the ring and it is nearly invisible and stable.
