What can I say?
The Flute Philanderer strikes again! I love’m then I leave’m.
Currently offered for adoption: Casey Burns All Blackwood Rudall, I’ld like $500 for this gem.

It’s hard to see in the picture, the embouchure features Casey’s fleur-de-lis relief beyond the blowing edge.
I’ve had 8 different flutes by Casey Burns (including 3 other Rudalls – one in each wood: Mopane, Blackwood & Boxwood) and this is the Best! It has the Best embouchure and the Best intonation of them all! Though it is truly a flute of many voices, it is the deep dark tone that is most endearing to me. Includes it’s original Burns Bag (padded nylon with 3-slots).
Please send inquiries via Email or PM.
Thanks and All the Best!
Here’s a picture of the 3 relief cuts on the far side of the embouchure, which I believe Casey referred to as his “session head” when done. I don’t see it listed on his website-looking quickly, but I think it was one of the coolest relief cuts I’ve seen from many makers who do this treatment.

By the way, the flute is really great-tone, playability and plenty of volume when you want it, and dark and sweet too when you play it softer. I passed it on to Jordan, since I already have one, but in Boxwood, and decided I liked having the lighter weight better. The Blackwood on this flute is really nice quality too. And the price…don’t think too long about it, it’s a no-brainer!
Barry
Thanks Barry!
Limbo Time!
Price is now $500
I’ll be out of touch for a while as of early Friday morning. So I would like to conclude this sale by then (hence the price drop). Perhaps I should have waited to list the CB Rudall. But I don’t want to pull this listing now and then repost later.
So, if you are interested please contact me A.S.A.P. I’m flexable about arrangements/payments. I just want to find a good home for this great playing flute.
I guess times are rough.
But an Olwell Bamboo in D just went for over $500 on Ebay!
Hawdy, still got the flute?
If this is still available (talked to Jordan recently, so I think it is), then it shouldn’t be still here at this price!
This is one of Casey’s premium line of flutes, and it certainly looks and plays like it too.
At Jordan’s price of $500, it being in like new condition, with no wait, there’s really no reason not to buy used in this case. If you want any keys sometime in the future, Casey can put them on this one.
All I said in my post before about this flute is true-it is a great flute-at this price, it’s a great deal too. And just in time for Christmas, if you are so inclined-you’ll be very Happy, um…Merry, um…Froeliche…!
Barry
I bought my first wooden flute from Barry. I bought my second from Jordan.
I would gladly by from them again.
Two very fine gentleman.
Hi Jim, nice to see you again! Thank thee for the kind words, but I will have to disagree; Jordan’s the gentelman, and I’m just tolerable. If you don’t believe me, just ask my wife!
Be well, Barry
The Blackwood Burns Rudall is SOLD!
Thanks for all the enquiries.
GOOD YULE!
