I also have two Native American flutes made by Miguel Medina of Singing Tree Flutes. One is in the key of G# with a nicely carved owl block ($200 + s.h.) and the other is in the key of F# with a hummingbird block ($175 + s.h.). I can remember the wood types as I never thought I would sell these but the G#, though slightly smaller was more expensive.
Thank you Jordan for the kind thoughts, for your support and for sharing Rose with me in the first place. I truly believed I’d be able to keep her forever. Right now though, I am still able to hold onto my home and family which is more than many others can do and that’s no small thing.
I was a little too late. When I realised what a tremendous flute was up for grabs for a price I could afford I rushed to sell my old car which I have been meaning to sell all summer, but of course by the time I had closed a deal it was too late. But it was probably not meant to be, I have 3 good concert flutes already. Maybe I’ll get a Burns Folk Flute in Bb instead and save the Olwells for later, or perhaps a cheap student Boehm flute and a couple of bamboo flutes in different keys, or perhaps a Veerhoven baroque flute when the next one comes up for sale…
I hope the new owner will find much pleasure in his/her new Olwell, and that Robin will have better luck in the near future…
I did sell my car, and for a couple hundred $ more than I had hoped for. Here’s a toast to that:
