FS- Olwell Boxwood D- SOLD!!!

As you may have heard, things in Michigan aren’t great and it looks like my job may be eliminated so I’m selling a canoe, a kayak & a flute, not all of which will be posted here.

The flute is an all-wood Olwell Nicholson (#474) in boxwood with new Cavallero roll case. It is in excellent condition except for an inch long scratch on the back of the head that looks like it could have been made by a ball-point pen (without ink) as it doesn’t go through the finish or affect the playability. It’s just there. This flute is a dream to play and I don’t want to let it go but will probably be easier to sell than performance paddlecraft so I’m offering it for $900.

Exact Priority Mail & insurance costs will depend on your zip code. I can accept money orders or PayPal cash transfers (not credit cards).

I feel bad about the fact that you are loosing your job, did’nt most of you guys around that area vote for mr Tree or some name like that, i guess its now payback time from mr tree,
i believe your flute will sell quite fast if you put up a photo, i for one would like to see a photo .

Sorry to hear of your finantial problems! Maybe you should start making whistles or flutes… It is bad enough to get rid of your canoe, but I ma sure the Olwell is hard to part with also…
Prayers go out to you!
Jon

Nahh, regardless of political allegiance, it hardly seems fair to blame a Shrub for something started decades ago when the Big 3 refused to believe Americans would spend money for nice-looking, long-lasting small cars. Also don’t think Shrub insisted on settling labor disputes quickly rather than risk strikes (and lost profits) to keep wages competitive. And I doubt he created the system that allows some of my friends to make $75,000 and bemoan the fact they can’t get overtime because they aren’t working. Nope- the blame for Michigan’s problems should probably be laid pretty close to home.

And she runs for cover…

The Olwell is back up.

bump.

Bump. Darnit, someone buy this jewel before I do!!!
Dave

Bump.

Gee, I can’t believe no one has bought this Olwell! Our economy must be in trouble. I have an all-wood Olwell Rudall which I LOVE! I’m sure this one is similarly great.

Someone buy this flute!

Still time before Father’s Day…

If it were ABW I’d be all over it. But with massive weather fluctuations here and no functioning AC (and no control over heat) I don’t want to take the risk on humidity issues.

I would also be all over it, but I’m probably even less solvent than the seller, as I’m a 19 year old student with no job at the moment.

I’ve heard Hoovorff’s. It’s beautiful, sounds like butter ('course, her playing has something to do with it), but it’s really lovely.

Waaaah! I hate being broke! Good luck, spring. About a week and a half ago I actually drafted you a note about your Rose whistle (which I could just about scrape up enough for), and then the car’s axle boot blew last Monday.

Argh.

Again, good luck.

Speaking of, what kind of paddlecraft? I have a friend looking for an ultra-light canoe.

I really can’t believe nobody’s picked this up yet. I have an all-wood Olwell Nicholson, and I’m beginning to think it is my soulmate rather than the tuneable boxwood Rudall model.

It must say something about the state of the flute economy. I’ve never seen a reasonably priced (which this is) Olwell last more than a few hours on this board.

Keys, keys, keys. Everybody wants keys now. Silly leaky things.

This is a real surprise. Come on people, all Boxwood ain’t that hard to take care of.

I wish I had money. :frowning:

Yeah, I am surprised but can’t dictate what folks want. I’m not afraid of boxwood because I only have two wooden flutes and this one gets humidified through regular playing. My other flute is a 5-keyed blackwood Noy. My labs prefer the Olwell- one of them lays her head on my feet when I play it. I think I’d trade the blackwood for a keyed boxwood Noy if I could.

Come on, people! Boxwood Olwells are great. I LOVE my Olwell Rudall boxwood. It’s as loud as some other flutes I’ve heard and played. I have absolutely no trouble caring for it. Very pleasing tonal quality to boxwood, I think.

Ok, umm…

I have 35 cents, some pocket lint, and a yo-yo. How’s that?
