FS: Reviol 6-keyed D Flute

I purchased this baby from Maurice Reviol a year and a half ago as my first flute. At the time I thought I would need the six keys for my interests (I was raised on classical piano, so I think chromatically) but these days I rarely play outside of the typical D, G, Em, etc. Thus, I’m considering switching to a keyless in the same price range - eventually, that is. A contributing factor towards this sale is my upcoming journey through Central America, for which I’ll be gone over four months and won’t have room for a flute. As such, it’d be nice to relinquish this flute to someone who can properly care for it.

This Reviol flute is made from Honduran rosewood and has a two-piece middle part. Keys are silver-plated. I bought it in 2009 (along with a case and care materials) for $3,466.30 NZD, which PayPal converted to $2,215.20 USD. These days that amount in NZD would convert to $2,670 USD (1,960 euro or 1,665 GBP).

At this point I should mention that there is very, very slight damage to the flute. I was once cleaning it and failed to pay proper attention to the head (tuning slide out), which I had just put in my lap, or at least, thought I had. One heart attack later, I picked it up from the floor to discover a quite small dent at the end of the tuning slide – I’d guess it changes the diameter by half a millimeter. I have included a photo of this in the interest of full disclosure about the damage. Other than this small defect, the flute has been cared for properly in regards to humidity and oiling and such.

I will include the case and the accompanying materials in the sale, which I’d like to make for $1,800 USD, with free shipping within the U.S. (this was originally $1,900).

Cheers!
