Just in time for Christmas!
Reviol Cast-Bore flute with the tuning slide insert. I believe the wood is African Padauk and the nicely matched cap is made of Mopane. My picture doesn’t do this flute justice (but the sun isn’t shining), the color is a dark scarlet red. Currently these sell for 750.-NZ$ or about $565 (U.S.).
This is a very grand playing flute with plenty of honk! The tone is fairly bright and very clear, with really fast response. Together these attributes produce clean sounding tunes, with succinct sounding notes and crisp ornamentations. Very Nice!
The cast-bore is great! I just leave this flute assembled, sitting in a corner waiting. I grab it, crack of a few tunes and set it back in the corner till the muse strikes again. It is also very light, weighing just 7.4 oz. with the mopane cap.
