Maurice Reviol 6 keyed flute for sale

Hello - I have a Maurice Reviol flute for sale. The timber is Honduras Rosewood, the keys and ferrules are brass. It’s a great flute, with a beautiful sound, lovely tone, and the build quality is excellent. It plays very well, is very efficient in terms of air usage, ie you get a lot out for little input, and has a lovely hard D.

I’m asking 640 GBP Stirling or near offer.

Please email me if you are interested and would like to find out more. I can send you sound clips, play it to you down the phone if required. I’ll be taking some photos in the next few days which I’ll add to this forum.

Best regards
Andy

Here’s a plug for Maurice Reviol’s flutes. I think the quality of Maurice’s flutes are one of the best kept secrets in the Irish flute world. They are big holed, Rudall models with a big sound and fabulous workmanship. He certainly deserves to be ranked somewhere in the top dozen or so Irish flute makers in the world today. Yet I hear virtually nothing on this forum about his work. I have been extremely pleased with my #45 for quite a while now.
I would be interested to see posts from other owners of Maurice’s flutes to discover their views on Reviol flutes.

Disclosure: I do not know and have no affiliation with Andy Faden.
cheers,

The new Singer of Danu also plays Flute and she plays a Reviol, I can’t remember her name though. Of course Tome plays an Olwell Pratten.

Hi Folks,

I can heartily recommend Maurice’s flutes. I have just got a bocoté 6-keyed flute from him and it is a truly fantastic flute. I would second the point about air usage – it plays almost by itself. It also has a hard D, a spot-on C and plays into the third octave when I want to. Craftsmanship, both woodwork and keywork are great.

Maurice offers a variety of flutes, both keyed and non-keyed, and with two- or three-pieced bodies. Check out his website here: http://www.reviol.co.nz/.

He is also an extremely nice bloke apart from anything else!

Cheers,

Ed

Edited for important P.S.: I don’t know Andy Faden and have no affiliation with him, but I am plugging Maurice’s flutes, since they’re very deserving of it! :=)
