I’ve got some spring cleaning to do to make room for bigger and better things, well in my case a new car, and some lumber(cocus and Brazilian rosewood!). Quite a few of these flutes are rare ones that I had intended to keep as investments, but a car with 211,000 miles and an engine that stalls, dictates I should probably seek something fresher. And of course the lovely timbers, I don’t make simple system flutes yet, but maybe someday I will, it’s sort of money in the bank so to speak.
So on to the stuff for sale, first up is the NAF because I have a lot of them, and then is a few whistles, and other world winds in my collection. For the sake of not taking up too much space I just posted small images on here. For closeups, or for that matter .mp3’s of any of these flutes just drop me a line.
Michael Graham Allen Low C Birdhead - This flute is one of the rarest flutes you can find as far as MGA flutes go. Micheal has made very few birdhead flutes over the years, and now no longer makes them at all. This flute is a C Bass with a smooth mellow sound and and amazing paint job. was $1,200 new, make an offer.
Michael Graham Allen Low D Birdhead - Same story as the above, except this flute is a low D that actually comes apart into two pieces for easy transport. It has a loud penetrating sound. was $1,200 new, make an offer
Michael Graham Allen G# Anasazi - This flute has to be one of the fanciest Anasazi style flutes I have seen. The enamel paint work on this is just amazing, and it has a tone to match. It is quite a powerful player and gets a solid 2 octaves easily with proper fingering. was $400 new, make an offer.
Vintage Black Birdhead F# - This is a nice vintage black birdhead flute in F#, with a good strong warble. It is “grandfather tuned” and features a really nice carving of a bird with tack eyes. There is a small chip to the beak that is original to it, I could restore it should buyer want that. $500
Vintage Blue W/ Fancy Beadwork A - This is a nice 5 hole plains style flute that most likely dates from the 70’s. It is approximately in the key of A with “grandfather tuning” which is to be expected for this kind of flute. It’s a nice player and has some really interest carving, especially the bird. $500
Self Made F# Birdhead - Fantastic sounding flute that is the best of both worlds. It features the tone and warble of my more traditional flutes, but has the comfortable modes 1,4 finger for modern players. It features a unique tinted shellac finish and brass tack eyes. $350
Self Made C# Elk - This is an elk flute by me in low C#, very strong warble, and a great scale. Not for small hands though. This was the first elk style flute I ever made, and has been good enough to justify keeping it for so long. $500

Korean JeongAk Daegeum in Bb - Here I have a very nice JeongAk daegeum that has served me well for the past 6 or so years. I looked at a ton of daegeum and for the price I could never find a better one. The tuning is spot on and it is very easy to produce a clean and powerful sound. $1,400
Korean Sogeum in Bb by Kim Yong Nam - Sogeum is the higher pitched relative of daegeum, lacking the membrane, it’s one octave higher to be exact. This one was made by Kim Yong Nam in 2009 and hand picked by my teacher. $300
Korean Tanso in Bb by Kim Yong Nam - Tanso is the most common flute in Korean as it is often taught instead of record in schools. It is played very similar to the quena and xiao but has a very quite delicate sound. This flute was also hand picked by my teacher from Mr. Kim in 2009 $200
Kerry Pro Low Whistles - Hard to get, but some of the best low whistles you’ll find in my opinion. I have two, both in like new condition, one is a low D, the other is low F. $300 each
Khaen Gao(18 tubes) by Chaiya Chaibin - These are very nice concert pitch(440 used as reference pitch) khaen gao. Khaen gao has 18 tubes, it is the same fingering as the 16 tube khaen with the addition of two higher notes. I have too many, and would just like to keep a couple. The keys shown in the photo are C, D, E, F, A, and B. $125 each
