(I’m trying to raise money for a keyed flute and have fallen hopelessly and desperately in love with my keyless Olwell.)
This is a big, Pratten-style flute with a great sound and plenty of volume. Blackwood, unlined headjoint, tuning slide, one-piece body, separate foot. The wood moved some as I played the flute in, so I sent it off to Hammy. He touched up the embrochure and the flute plays beautifully. There is one pinned crack in the barrel. I had the repair done by a Straubinger certified repairman and it has been stable. No case; the little wooden one it came with fell apart.
PM me if you have any questions or interest. I would hate to put a flute this nice up on eBay.
I remember meeting you, Jason. That was a lovely session.
That’s me on Tradlessons and the flute is the Hammy. I didn’t post those clips because they don’t really do justice to the flute. I made them before I started taking lessons and I didn’t have that great of a flute embrochure. It’s taken me a long time to retrain my face from clarinet to flute.
If someone who is interested in purchasing the flute needs to hear a better sound clip, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
