For sale: Seth Hamon concert D chanter. No keys/blocks. African Blackwood with Boxwood mounts. Nickel-silver ferrol on foot. Comes with reedcap of blackwood and brass. Has a working reed by David Daye. Currently plays well from hard D through D"'. Decent tuning which needs no tape or rushing. Bold tone but not difficult to play. Only downside is that the reedcap looks a bit kicked around, but I think this is one Seth threw together as a favor when I purchased the chanter. Cost: $250. Reason for sale: Too many musical instruments, time to thin out the herd. This is a good chanter for the price.

I remember you Dave. That was one of my first chanter I made. A buddy of mine still has one of my first chanters I still play it from time to time when we meet up. Has quite a bit larger bore than my current stuff I think the bell end opening is like 9/16". ![]()
Well, ya did a good job. Someday I’d like to try the next generation…this one was a great deal for the money, I’ve just got too many chanters and I’m not playing them all.
