Hi, Judith, I’ve PMed you!

what are the obrien’s made of?

Hi Squeezebox - the O’Briens are nickel plated copper. The mouthpieces are the same (as opposed to delrin). Glad you asked. Judith

what are the whistles you decided you love the best??

Hey Squeezebox - this is all a matter of personal taste, not to mention skills, such as breath control… at this point, I think Burkes consistently have a great tone and easy playability. I have a low G Alba that I adore, bought not long ago from a fellow Chiff(er) and Fipple(er). I have an Impempe Bb that I adore. I actually like the tone of the Dixons, but for me, they are easy to overblow. What about you? J

I am in love with my thin weasel. I also love, love, love the sound of Jerry’s tweaked generation whistles. I have a D alba (for sale here) that I adore so I don’t think I’m going to sell it.
I’m getting an o’riordan from biscuit so we’ll see what the holy grail is all about.
I have a delrin o’brien that I really love too. I guess I love them all for different reasons - but I don’t like Dixons much - don’t know why.

I don’t know why more people don’t play alba whistles. At first I thought they were unable to play high - but that’s definately not the case now. I can easily hit the D above the staff and it’s sweet as honey.
