FS: delrin flutes

hi,

so i need to sell a couple of flutes i have to buy an Eb M&E and that F Reviol on the used instruments exchange… so i’m selling the extra delrin D flutes i have (a Forbes, Copley, and Cochran).

check it out over on the used exchange…

thanks.

eric

Eric, if I thought getting the Forbes would make me play like Kevin Crawford does in that clip you link to, I’d be on it in a second. I don’t by any means like everything he does, but that clip is just wonderful. No plans to get another polymer flute after the Copley. Unless an Aulos white (A415) traverso becomes available at a price I can’t resist.

your 2nd Cochran flute image on the Exchange forum is missing a “.” before the JPG extension.

Also, is that Jon’s Rudall model (I ask, since the video clip of Aanvil/Peri’s I know was a Pratten)?

I can tell you honestly that it does not have that power.

No reason to get the forbes if you have the copley; both are good. The copley is a little bit louder and the forbes a little crisper (ornamentation-wise), but both are great flutes.

I will investigate the Aulos ttansverso; what is that? Never heard of it…

Post removed by poster as it was mistakenly sent to the board and not as a PM. My apologies.

These are relatively* small holed 1 keyed flutes that are are often used to play baroque music.

Must resist; can’t buy more instruments…

I want a traverso so badly, but man are they expensive, and it would be another instrument to split my time up for haha.

I’ve heard a glossy black Aulos in person before, sounded quite fantastic. Think it was the cheapest of them as well.

ok, you’re not helping me…

I had no idea what the hell I was doing when I did that vid. I think I only had a few months ever touching a real “Irish flute”

Not what I would call a reasonable example of what Jon’s flutes are capable of.

But yeah, as Mr. Krell points out, mine is one of Jon’s Pratten’s and it’s pretty good even after I have a better idea of how to actually play the damn thing… better idea… not that I can.

That Cochran flute used to be mine. It’s a pratten.

Here’s an old video of me playing it:

Thanks, an answer, finally.

anyway, sorry, yes, it’s a pratten.

thanks,
eric
