WTB: Delrin keyless

I’m looking for a second hand keyless flute in delrin or polymer…from a famous maker..
If you have one you are not using enough and you’re looking for to sell, please PM me…
thank you

Edit: Yep, You’re super right, delrin not derlin… I like to change names a bit

Edit2: more info, it was a poor first message…

What’s “derlin” when it’s at home? Dunno any makers who’ve discovered/use that, whatever it is.

As for Delrin, there are quite a few well-reputed makers (see The List) who offer it, but I dunno about “famous” - depends who you ask, I suppose, as to who counts as “famous”! Generally the very top name makers don’t offer it, SFAIK - they’re too busy with wood. Which is not to say the work of those who do offer it is necessarily “inferior”. Desi Seery’s Delrin flutes were famous enough, I suppose, when you could get them. But although very decent, I wouldn’t rate them way up the list of high quality playing instruments.

Bravo bravo

These rock.

Hi dontf

Not much use to Radcliffe, the auction is US only.

There is an M&E on ebay UK, but this is UK only.

David

And M&Es aren’t Delrin anyway…

Ah well, it was worth a mention.

Never heard of Derlin Whirvishes, Jem? :stuck_out_tongue:

doc jones has a seery, an M@E polymer, and some
from the Irish/brazilian fellow that look very nice.

There’s a nice looking delrin Cochran flute on eBay right now (made by JonC who posts regularly here):

Cochran delrin pratten

Oh, that’s so 46 minutes ago (see above) :poke:

Best wishes.

Steve

You might want to change ‘Selrin’ to Delrin before someone sharpshoots you back..

Ooops! Done. At least I have the excuse that D and S are neighbours on the keyboard and I only did it once!

Well wadya know. That Cochran Pratten up for sale was originally made for me. I recently sold it to that fellow. He had Jon make him a Rudall just like it.

Hehe, he even used some of my description from my ebay sale.

It’s a cracker of a flute and a steal at 500 bucks. It’s loud and practically a fekin foghorn.

Someone should snap it up!!

Garry Somers Delrin Pratten Great flute!!!

I’ll put in a vote for Rob Forbes or Dave Copley. I have a Forbes D and Copley C and Eb Delrin flutes and they’re all fantastic. David is doing great things with embouchure cuts these days, and his turnaround is pretty quick. His flutes are thicker-walled and a little heftier-feeling but I kind of like that. You can really lean into them … or not. Very responsive, light air requirements but can also take a hard blow. I’m super-impressed with his flutes. (Can you tell?)

I’ll 2nd Cat

My two cents, for what they’re worth, go with one of Dave Copley’s delrin flutes. Whenever I have tin whistle students wanting to learn flute I recommend they start of with one of Dave’s delrins. They produce great tone, and pretty much handle like the best of the wooden flutes. I don’t play one myself - I use one of Dave’s wooden flutes - but I’ve had students who have bought Dave’s delrin flutes and were very satisfied. I was very pleased with their quality whenever I had the chance to play one. I’m considering possibly buying a keyed C delrin flute from Dave whenever I have money again…

Guys, he knows as much as we do about flutes, he didn’t ask for advice but if anyone has a second hand delrin flute available for sale.

I’m sorry. I didn’t see a mention of “secondhand.” Thanks for the clarification.
