WTB: Forbes Delrin or Dixon 3-piece polymer flute

I am interested in buying or making a partial-trade towards a Forbes Delrin flute, or a Dixon 3-piece polymer flute. The flute I would be interested in trading is my 3-piece Tipple low D, with lip plate, wedge, and offset finger holes. Must be willing to ship internationally, and to be able to take payment through Paypal. Please pm me if interested.

Robin of Sherwood, in addition to the Forbes and Dixon flutes that you mentioned, I think that you should also consider the polymer conical flutes by David Copley or Gary Somers that are in this price range. The wooden folk flute by Casey Burns is also a good choice. By the way, the low C Tipple is heading your way.

Hi Doug.

Thanks for the advice.

And I am looking forward to getting my Tipple C. Best deal out there, I say.

Pure volume aside the Forbes sounds better to me than the Dixon.. just my purely subjective 2 cents
I have tried a Dixon and there was nothing wrong with it per se, it just didn’t quite do it for me.
Besides, a better player than me can play quite softly on a Forbes/Seery as well.

Having owned a Forbes in the past, I know where you’re coming form. But from an affordability standpoint, and the fact that I am looking for a ‘sweeter’ and ‘thinner’ sound in a polymer D, the Dixon might fit the bill better.

have to agree on that..

I already bought a Dixon 3-piece flute, but thanks for the input everyone.
